ISEC has been involved with or hosted the last five Space Elevator Conferences. Proceedings from each of these conferences are available on CD and are summarized below.

2012 Conference
  • The 2012 ISEC Space Elevator Conference was organized by ISEC and was hosted by Seattle's Museum of Flight from August 25th through the 27th. This was the first time this venue had hosted this event.
  • The ISEC theme for 2012 was Operating and Maintaining a Space Elevator and the Keynote speaker for the conference was Mr. Jeffrey Slostad, Vice President of Engineering, at Tethers Unlimited, Inc.

2011 Conference
  • The 2011 ISEC Space Elevator Conference was organized by ISEC and was hosted by the Microsoft Conference Center in Redmond, Washington, from August 12th through the 14th. This was the fourth time this venue had hosted this event.
  • The ISEC theme for 2011 was Research and Thought targeted towards the goal of a 30 MYuri tether.

2009 & 2010 Conferences
  • This CD contains the proceedings from both the 2009 and the 2010 Space Elevator Conferences.
  • For the 2010 conference, we were thrilled to host both Yuri Artsutanov and Jerome Pearson at this conference. Yuri is the Russian engineer who first came up with the idea of a tensile-based structure as a Space Elevator and Jerome is the American engineer who independently came up with this idea. Yuri attended this conference on the 50 year anniversary of his original proposal of this idea.
  • The ISEC theme for 2009 was Space Debris Mitigation - Space Elevator Survivability.
